Our Impact
HOCRN is a 501(c)(3) corporation that has brought together over 50 community resources and a dedicated group of volunteers to fulfill its mission.
In its first year, HOCRN coordinated volunteers and resources to revitalize and expand the flow of quality items at the thriving HOCRN Thrift Store, contributing to sustained financial growth. Additionally, volunteers established the first Heber-Overgaard Community Garden, providing a secure location with water and fencing for garden plots, along with education, fellowship, and fresh produce for the community.
As support and enthusiasm grow, HOCRN continues to strengthen its ability to enrich more lives and build a stronger safety net for the Heber-Overgaard community.

Thank you all for participating in Heber-Overgaard’s first annual Thrifters Weekend. The Heber-Overgaard community is fortunate to have four thriving thrift stores. Each thrift store operates as a non-profit and gives back to our community. The thrift stores are Addie’s Thrift Store and She Shed, Christian Closet, Encore, and HOCRN Thrift Store.
The event was held over Labor Day weekend 2024. Each thrift store held an event unique to its store and its shoppers. Thrifters started at one of the four thrift stores and were given a punch card. Thrifters were encouraged to visit all four of the stores and leave their completed card at the last location they visited. A 10% off coupon was also provided to the thrifters to use at local eating establishments. Once all punch cards were collected, drawings were held for 50% off at your thrift store and winners were notified.
Comments from volunteers were mostly focused on how busy their store was for the event. “The thrifters seemed to be having fun” and “we saw so many new faces” were also expressed.
Comments from customers included, “Great idea, I hope you do it again,” “The punch card finally forced me to drive to Addie’s and the She Shed, I didn’t know they had two buildings and so much furniture,” “we are so fortunate to have such wonderful thrift stores in our community,” “our thrift stores are the best,” “do it again,” “we saw the flyer in Show Low, well worth the trip, we’ll be back,” “do you do this every weekend,” “fun shopping and we are headed over to Sander’s Coffee for a drink and to use our 10% off coupon”, “the vehicle is packed, I’ve got two choices next time, bigger vehicle or less girlfriends.”
We will plan on seeing you at the second annual Thrifters Weekend, Labor Day 2025, in beautiful Heber-Overgaard.
